The battery is one of the most critical components of a reach truck. Excessive battery discharge (over-discharge) can shorten battery life, reduce truck performance, and increase maintenance and replacement costs.
The BDI Interrupt system is designed to prevent these issues by continuously monitoring the battery charge level. When the remaining battery capacity falls below approximately 20%, the system alerts the operator and automatically limits truck functions to prevent excessive battery discharge
By protecting the battery from over-discharge, the BDI Interrupt system helps:
- Extend battery service life

System Operation
First Warning Level : When the battery level drops below 20% ,
Display Message : CHARGE
- A warning message appears on the display.
- The lift speed is automatically reduced
Operation Restriction Level
Display Message : CHARGE REQUIRED
If the forklift continues to operate until the battery reaches a critically low level, the system will:
- Stop the lifting operation.
- Prevent excessive battery discharge and protect battery life.
Purpose of the System
- Protect the battery from damage caused by over-discharge.
- Extend battery service life.
- Improve forklift operational safety.
- Encourage timely battery charging before severe battery depletion occurs.
